Description
COURSE DESCRIPTION
If you are aged 19 and want to develop your literacy and numeracy skills, you can access free numeracy courses through ‘Read Count Rise' to build your confidence and learn a new skill.
Join our professional tutor in our historic studio and be introduced to the Art and Design skill printmaking for illustration. Join this friendly class for peaceful and productive sessions and learn some new art and design skills. All whilst using some basic maths and literacy skills to improve your confidence.
All resources are provided.
What will I learn on this course?
1. 1. Identify at least 2 suitable sections of written pieces to illustrate from a given range (literature, poetry, children’s fiction, recipes, factual, historical)
2. Analyse at least 1 text to identify key areas to inspire the illustrative process
3. Use a range of basic maths skills to plan and map for the practical print process
Learners will also explore at least 2 different print processes in relation to their chosen and analysed texts.

Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 85%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes.
