Description

This 35-week course is designed to help learners develop practical mathematical skills that can be applied in everyday life, further education, and the workplace. The course focuses on problem-solving, critical thinking, and the application of mathematical concepts to real-world situations. Throughout the programme, learners will build confidence in using maths effectively and work towards achieving a Functional Skills Mathematics Level 2 qualification.
  

What will I learn on this course?
• working with numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages • understanding measurements, shapes and space • Handling and interpreting data using charts and statistics • Applying maths to practical scenarios like budgeting, planning and decision making.

Is this course suitable for me?
You need to be 19 years and over and have no GCSE 4/C or equivalent qualifications in Maths..

Is there anything I need to know about the course?
Before you begin your studies, an initial assessment will take place to help us to place you on the most suitable course. The qualification is equivalent to a GCSE grade 4 (C).

Will there be additional costs?
No additional costs. All materials will be provided. To support your progression, your tutor may recommend study support materials, which are not provided as part of the course.

What could I go on to do after this course?

Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your course, you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know and so they can send you any work you may have missed
