Description

Maths Entry Level 2
This course helps learners build confidence and develop practical maths skills for everyday life, work and further study. It is designed for those who have completed Entry Level 1 or are working towards Entry Level 2, offering supportive and accessible learning environment.  

What will I learn on this course?
• Counting, reading, writing and comparing numbers up to 100 • Understanding place value and simple number patterns • Addition and subtraction using whole numbers • Recognising and using coins and notes • Measuring length, weight and capacity using standard units • Telling the time and understanding calendars • Interpreting simple information from tables and charts.

Is this course suitable for me?
You need to be 19 years and over and have no GCSE 4/C or equivalent qualifications in Maths. Before you begin your studies, an initial assessment will take place in order to help us to place you on the most suitable course.

Is there anything I need to know about the course?
This course is ideal for learners who; • are working at Entry Level 2 in Maths • want to improve their numeracy for everyday tasks • are preparing to progress to Entry Level 3 or Functional Skills Maths • Need a gentle and supportive approach to learning

No additional costs. All materials will be provided.

What could I go on to do after this course?
Your tutor can talk to you about other subject related courses and progression routes available, such as Entry Level 3 or Functional Skills Maths Level 1, which are run through MAE. Attendance Policy
In order to get the most out of your course, you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know and so they can send you any work you may have missed.

How are digital skills used and enhanced on this course
You may need to use the internet for some of your course- using a tablet, laptop or computer. The tutor will speak to you about useful websites, apps and online resources which you may be asked to use for homework.
