What Will I Learn On This Course?
Learners will: 1. Develop your drawing ability using at least 2 different dry media 2. Develop your ability to translate the third dimension into a two-dimensional image using at least one of the following: perspective, light, shadow, working from still life, working from landscapes 3. Develop your ability to paint/work in at least 1 of the following: watercolour, acrylic, water based or traditional oils Whether you would like to learn new creative skills or to investigate the possibility of a new art-based career, MAE Community Learning courses can provide you with a stepping stone to progress

Is This Course Suitable For Me?
Every opportunity is afforded to help you to develop your work no matter what your stage of ability. Overall, most people can draw in the same way people can write. It is dependant wholly on your aspirations and to what level you want to develop your chosen media, or you may be interested in experimenting and moving to pastures new.

Is There Anything Else I Need To Know About This Course?
Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include theory and professional related training such as H&S, risk assessments, public liability etc Learners will need the following tools and equipment please do not purchase until you are sure the course will run: You will need to prepare the following tools and equipment before the start of the course: • Your own materials and work box. • Examples of your work if possible

Will There Be Additional Costs?
You will be provided with a basic sketch book. You tutor can guide you on materials and tools as the course progresses.

What Could I Go On To Do After This Course?
This is a drawing and painting course level 2B, upon completing this course, learners can progress onto Level 2C Painting and Drawing class but cannot redo this course at the same level or book onto lower-level courses (such as Drawing & Painting 1A, 1B or 1C). Learners can book onto any other Art specialism or Creative & Culture courses from 1A upwards. Your tutor can talk to you about other subject related course available. Your progression course is R2584A Level 2C You may also wish to explore our accredited BTEC Level 2 Art and Design Skills course. Medway Adult Education works with many partners locally such as MidKent College, Medway School of Arts and the University of Kent; information about their courses can be found in our studios, café and on Moodle. Medway has an exciting and wide-range of events, exhibitions and activities to inspire and help you make further progress - please see the community noticeboards in the Rochester Centre and again on Moodle. What Is The Attendance Policy?
Multiple sessions- To get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed
