Description
This is an Art Specialism course level 2A for those with some Mixed Media or Art & Design experience.
This course offers a dynamic exploration of creative techniques and materials, engaging participants with both traditional and unconventional mediums, including recycled materials. With a blend of abstract and traditional projects, you will be guided to cultivate your unique artistic voice while experimenting with themed techniques. The use of a sketchbook will be emphasised to support your learning journey and encourage the evolution of your personal practice between sessions.
This is an Art Specialism course level 2A, upon completing this course, learners can progress onto Level 2B or 2C but cannot redo this course at the same level or book onto lower-level courses or go back to Drawing & Painting courses. Learners can book onto any other Art specialism or Creative & Culture courses from 1A upwards.

What Will I Learn On This Course?
Learners will:
1. Experiment with at least 2 different techniques
2. Experiment with at least 2 different media
3. Create at least one piece from a media and technique you have tested and developed

Is This Course Suitable For Me?
This course in an excellent starting point for beginners who want to explore creativity or those with more experience that would like to try new/modern approaches and improve creativity. As well as improving art skills you will be encouraged to practise using sketchbook and undertake research to increase your knowledge and skills.
Is There Anything Else I Need To Know About This Course?
Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include theory and professional related training such as H&S, risk assessments, public liability etc

For the first session we will be using watercolours (pans or tubes are fine). Other materials will be needed later in the course and will be discussed in class
Will There Be Additional Costs?
You will be provided with a basic sketch book. You tutor can guide you on materials and tools as the course progresses.
What Could I Go On To Do After This Course?

What Is The Attendance Policy?
Multiple sessions-
To get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed
