Description
This is a level 2B course for those who have attended Drawing & Painting previously or who have some drawing and painting experience.
This course provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with foundational drawing and painting skills to advance their artistic practice through hands-on activities, guided exploration of techniques, and tutor-led demonstrations. Learners will engage in both personal and collaborative projects, supporting creative growth and skill development.
This is a drawing and painting course level 2B, upon completing this course, learners can progress onto Level 2C Painting and Drawing class but cannot redo this course at the same level or book onto lower-level courses (such as Drawing & Painting 1A, 1B or 1C). Learners can book onto any other Art specialism or Creative & Culture courses from 1A upwards.

What Will I Learn On This Course?
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
1. Use at least two drawing materials such as pencil, graphite, charcoal, or pen & ink to build confidence and skill through careful observation and accurate rendering.
2. Work with a minimum of two painting materials, including watercolours, acrylics, or soft pastels, to explore different approaches to painting.
3. Apply at least two painting techniques, such as Impressionism, Expressionism, or Realism, to create original pieces of artwork.

Is This Course Suitable For Me?
This course is suitable for individuals with foundational skills or extended experience in Art and Design. This is not a beginner’s course.
Is There Anything Else I Need To Know About This Course?
Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include theory and professional related training such as H&S, risk assessments, public liability etc
Learners will need the following tools and equipment for the first session - please do not purchase until you are sure the course will run:
• A4 or A3 sketchbook or cartridge paper to draw on
• HB/2B pencil and sharpener
• A kneaded putty eraser o/ eraser
Assessment will be an ongoing part of your learning, beginning with an initial review to guide your learning path and continuing throughout the course to support your progress toward personal goals and achievement.
Will There Be Additional Costs?
Learners are expected to bring their own materials and work box for most activities. Easels and drawing boards will be provided, and paper can be purchased from the centre at a minimal cost, subject to availability. A list of required materials will be shared at appropriate stages during the course. If you need to buy additional items, please wait to speak with the tutor, who will offer guidance on suitable materials and purchases.
What Could I Go On To Do After This Course?

What Is The Attendance Policy?
Multiple sessions-
To get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed
