Description
This is a level 2C course for those who have attended Drawing & Painting previously or who have drawing and painting experience.
This course enables you to build on your existing skills through hands-on projects, expert tutor demonstrations, and the chance to explore exciting new techniques. Whether working independently or collaborating with others, you'll gain the confidence and creativity to develop your unique artistic style.
This is a drawing and painting course level 2C, upon completing this course, learners cannot redo this course at the same level or book onto lower-level Drawing & Painting courses. Learners can book onto any other Art specialism or Creative & Culture courses from 1A upwards.
If you are interested in developing your creative skills, book onto one of our courses from the Creative Arts offer.

What Will I Learn On This Course?
By the end of the course, learners will:
1. Confidently produce observational drawings using at least two different materials (e.g., pencil, charcoal, pen & ink), demonstrating accuracy in proportion, line, and form.
2. Create at least two paintings using different media (e.g., watercolours, acrylics or soft pastels), applying observational skills to develop composition, colour mixing, and surface techniques.
3. Create original artworks that explore at least two different artistic styles or movements, such as Impressionism, Expressionism, or Realism, demonstrating an understanding of their key characteristics and applying them to your own creative work.

Is This Course Suitable For Me?
This is a drawing and painting course level 2C, upon completing this course, learners cannot redo this course at the same level or book onto lower-level Drawing & Painting courses. Learners can book onto any other Art specialism or Creative & Culture courses from 1A upwards.
This course is suitable for individuals with foundational skills or extended experience in Art and Design. This is not a beginner’s course.
Is There Anything Else I Need To Know About This Course?
Please be aware that whilst this course is practical in nature some sessions will include theory and professional related training such as H&S, risk assessments, public liability etc
Learners will need the following tools and equipment please do not purchase until you are sure the course will run:
You will need to prepare the following tools and equipment before the start of the course:
• A4 or A3 sketchbook or cartridge paper to draw on
• HB/2B pencil and sharpener
• A kneaded putty eraser o/ eraser
Assessment will be an ongoing part of your learning, beginning with an initial review to guide your learning path and continuing throughout the course to support your progress toward personal goals and achievement.
Will There Be Additional Costs?
Learners are expected to bring their own materials and work box for most activities. Easels and drawing boards will be provided, and paper can be purchased from the centre at a minimal cost, subject to availability. A list of required materials will be shared at appropriate stages during the course. If you need to buy additional items, please wait to speak with the tutor, who will offer guidance on suitable materials and purchases.

What Is The Attendance Policy?
Multiple sessions-
To get the most out of your course you will need to attend as many sessions as possible. We recommend at least 90%. If you do have a holiday booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcomes. If you are unavoidably ill or unable to attend, please contact 01634 338400 so that we can let your tutor know, and so they can send you any work you may have missed.
